Journalism & Technology Academy

Day 2

One of the most deadly distractions for teens behind the wheel are cell phones. One in four American teen drivers admit to texting while driving, and 40 percent of 12- to 17-year-olds say they have been in a car where a teen driver used a cell phone in a dangerous way. Teens participating in this summer’s Journalism and Technology Academy have something to say about these alarming statistics.

Today, the students crafted a script and shot scenes for a video PSA encouraging their peers to avoid texting while driving.
