Community Cinema

We recently concluded a successful season of Community Cinema, a series of free monthly film screenings from the Emmy Award-winning PBS series, Independent Lens. We send a hearty thank you to our community partner, San Bernardino Valley College, for collaborating with us to bring together leading organizations, community members, and public television stations for learning and discussion, and to promote involvement in today’s critical social issues.

Pictured  (l to r): Jeanette De Patie, Sheri Stuart and Lawrence McCrary, Jr. of San Bernardino Valley College.  De Patie was the featured guest speaker at our screening of Strong!  De Patie is a plus-sized certified exercise instructor and the author of "The Fat Chick Works Out!" She spoke in-depth about the importance of young girls and women embracing their body type and developing a positive self-image.  De Patie also hosts her own website - http://www.thefatchick.com/.

Be sure to join us next season.  Screening dates for the 2012-2013 season will be announced soon.
