See the Film ... Join the Conversation

Many thanks to our guest panelists, A. Majadi, president/CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of San Bernardino and Alton Garrett, senior advisor to U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, for their comments on tonight's Community Cinema screening of More than a Month by filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman.  The film chronicled Tilghman as he set off on a cross-country campaign to end Black History Month.  His thoughtful, humours journey through a so-called "post-racial" America explores the complexity and contradictions of relegating an entire group's history to one month.

This was an interesting and thought-provoking film that was followed by great audience participation and robust dialogue. This is exactly the goal of Community Cinema - to engage the community in meaningful dialogue and discussion! What a wonderful world this would be if we simply talked more to one another.

(L to R) Alton Garrett and A. Majadi

Tonight's film was followed by robust audience participation and dialogue. The screening was held in the Library Viewing Room of San Bernardino Valley College.

Join us next month for the screening of Revenge of the Electric Car by filmmaker Chris Paine.
